Last Mystery Song: Sweet Caroline

The last Mystery Song this school year is a very well-known, beloved oldie: Sweet Caroline, by master Neil Diamond. Why is it that so many people, so many years later, still recall it?

Mystery Song: Love Of My Life

Last week’s mystery song -and the last one this term- was Love Of My Life, by Queen ❤ ❤ <3:

Mystery Song: Kiss Me

This week’s mystery song has been Kiss Me, by Sixpence None The Richer. Congratulations to all the students who found out its title (and/or band)!:

Once upon a time there was a 14 year-old girl whose one of her favorite subjects was English. She had a fantastic teacher, Ms. Butiñà, who used music to teach one of the tougher parts of language for a teen -that is, grammar.

The LP -I mean, real long algo- was by The Solid British Hat Band and it included some black pearls, like Present Continuous Baby to teach the fore mentioned verbal tense to EFL students.

As you have probably already guessed, that girl is behind these lines nowadays – and has found this absolute treasure in the shape of a lyrics video, which is sharing with her 5th graders right now 🙂

Mystery Song: Gold

Last week’s mystery song was Gold, by Spandau Ballet:

Mystery Song: New section for 6th grade class

Starting last week, the 6th grade group is facing a new challenge each week -a listening activity consisting of guessing the title of a well-known pop song as well as the singer/band who played it. This activity scores 10 points in Listening abilities and 10 more points in Attitude towards study. There’s a whole week to solve the exercise and on Fridays each week we’ll have a sing along.

The solution to last week Mystery song is Why Can’t I Be You?, by The Cure.
